Skid row is a Seattle word. Logs skidded down Yesler Way to the mill and the taverns waited underneath, and the town has argued about respectability ever since. This road runs from the original Skid Road up through Belltown's neon to Capitol Hill, where the flannel era drank itself immortal.

5 · The Last Call Linda's Tavern
Opened by the Sub Pop crowd in 1994, an elk head over the bar, whiskey and tallboys and a back patio that outlasts the rain. It was the last place Kurt Cobain was seen in public, a fact the room carries quietly. The night ends a short walk east on Broadway.
